• Chemical exposure: Rinse the eyes thoroughly with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Do not cover the affected eye, as this may trap harmful substances.
• Foreign object in the eye: Avoid rubbing or touching the eye. Attempt to gently flush the eye with clean water to remove the object.
• Blunt trauma to the eye or surrounding area: Apply a cold compress gently to reduce swelling, but avoid putting pressure directly on the eye.

The most effective way to prevent serious eye injuries is through awareness and appropriate precautions. Always wear protective eyewear when engaging in activities that pose a risk to your eyes. In environments where injury is possible, keep a well-stocked first aid kit readily available, including an eye shield and sterile gauze.
