What is vision therapy used to treat?
Think of it this way : Vision Therapy is like Physical Therapy but for your eyes and brain.
Its main goal is usually to sort out issues like focus and being able to see stuff at a distance/ up close , seeing things in 3D and get your eyes and brain to work together properly.
There’s a whole host of common vision problems that a vision therapy program can help with, such as:
Depth-perception problems – how well you judge distances
Sports vision problems
Lazy or crossed eyes – also known as strabismus
Vision-sensory impairments (sensory processing issues that affect your vision)
Vision problems brought on by a traumatic brain injury or stroke
Double vision and tracking problems with your eye-movements
Certain reading difficulties – we all know how frustrating that can be!
How is a vision therapy program structured?
Your eye care provider will work out a tailored plan for you that will involve regular visits to their clinic and some work to do at home.

Vision therapy and learning problems
Any child experiencing reading or learning disabilities should have a comprehensive eye exam to test for vision problems. In cases where the learning problem is vision-related, then vision therapy may be a part of the treatment program.

Not wanting to read or examine their schoolwork closely
Complaints of headaches or their eyes hurting
Lack of attention span during tasks requiring visual attention
Signs of problems with remembering imagery or words
Squinting, tilting their head, or closing one eye during visual tasks
